When reading many of the Biblical accounts it often appears that there are seemingly unimportant and unnecessary pieces of information included in the text. One example of this is:
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (John 20:7)
Why is a complete verse used to tell us that the napkin that covered Jesus’ head was folded neatly, separately from the linen clothes? We believe every single word of Scripture is there for a reason and there is no such thing as an accidental detail! Jesus Himself hinted at this is:
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18)
