Judgment
We are living in very testing times, the world is rapidly changing as our post-Christian society gains traction. Instead of churches separating themselves from changes around us that compromise scripture they are choosing the opposite to be seen as modern and appealing. The stakes are massive here as relationships with God walk a tightrope for both churches and individuals. There is a serious need to look at ourselves and our personal relationship with God to assess if changes need to be made.

When asked about the signs of the end times in the Olivet Discourse, Jesus drew a parallel between the ‘days of Noah’ and the days prior to His return – effectively Jesus was saying that there would be a repeat of the situation that led to the flood:
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Recently, Danny was asked to preach at St Andrew’s Baptist Church and he gave a sermon entitled ‘Righteousness, Self-Control and the Judgment to Come’. In Acts 24, Paul provides one of 6 defences of his faith which leads to Governor Felix becoming very intrigued with the gospel – this results in two years of exchanges between the two men about matters of faith. We are given an interesting detail in Acts 24:25 where Paul speaks to Felix about:
- Righteousness
- Self Control
- Judgment to Come

It’s been a few weeks since the General Election and this has coincided with a fairly chaotic time in the UK. We are living in times of increased uncertainty with fears on security, safety, Brexit and a government in total disarray – but despite all of this, we remain convinced that God IS in control and is everything ultimately works for His good purposes.

One of the major theological problems we have at present in Western mainstream Christian circles is the inability to reconcile two of the attributes of God – His ‘love’ and ‘wrath’. We often see these as mutually exclusive and conclude that they cannot simultaneously describe the character of God. As a result, churches will speak confidently of God’s love (which it should), but either become shy and awkward about God’s wrath or abandon any discussion of this altogether. This causes confusion, leaving many wondering is God a God of love or wrath?

It’s been a while since we made a comment on topical end time prophetic events – one of the reasons for this is that events are now so fast-moving, it’s almost impossible to keep up!
One area of Bible prophecy that continues to shape up directly in line with many end time scenarios is the Middle East. We blog on the abortion issue fairly frequently as we believe this is a key barometer of how much society values the life of the weakest individuals and by implication how close a nation is aligned to God’s moral values.
