Earlier this week we posted a blog, A clear example of antisemitism in the UK in which we reported on recent calls to boycott Israel, Israeli’s and anyone who has links to Israel.
This propaganda has been significantly notched up a level since then with MP George Galloway declaring Bradford an “Israel free” zone! He then went on to encourage all kinds of discrimination against Israeli’s and stated, “We don’t want any Israeli goods; we don’t want any Israeli services; we don’t want any Israeli academics coming to the university or the college. We don’t even want any Israeli tourists to come to Bradford even if any of them had thought of doing so.” He is being investigated over his comments, whether this will result in any action against him remains to be seen.
This is precisely the same propaganda that was evident in the years leading up to the holocaust and although we are used to general anti-Israel sentiment in the UK, this is particularly disturbing – these comments come from a guy who has been voted into the House of Parliament!
As we have repeatedly stated, the Bible describes a time coming when the armies of the world will be gathered against Israel to usher in the “time of Jacob’s trouble”. All the signs indicate that the ground is being prepared for this terrible event with alarming pace. We suspect the worlds Jewish populations are soon going to be persecuted and bullied with so much ferocity that their only option will be to relocate to Israel. Many Christian’s love God’s chosen people, so witnessing this process will be very distressing. Seeing this, as well as other events, causes us to believe the rapture will not be too far away and we urge non-Christian’s to look to at the claims Jesus Christ made in being the Saviour of mankind – do not leave it too late…time could be running out! We also urge Christian’s to prepare themselves to meet their Bridegroom for the wedding feast – do NOT get caught sleeping and do NOT run out of oil (see Matthew 25:1-13)!
Jesus specifically mandates that special care be taken over the Jews. Although we believe is specifically referring to nations during the Great Tribulation in the “sheep and goats” discourse, the church would do well to adopt this principle now:
And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ (Matthew 25:40)
Time is too short and the consequences too serious to get this wrong – be ready and come soon, Lord Jesus!
