Abortion

We are deeply concerned that the Christian Institute have recently reported an increase in UK abortions which are up by more than 1,000 compared to last year. Disabled children are particular targets in a society that always seem to victimize the weakest for its worst treatment.
Given our concern about the rise in abortion in the UK, we are horrified at recent news that the Chief Executive of the Royal College of Midwives has called for an end to the 24-week cut-off and that abortion should be legalised up to birth. With the profession of midwifery being led by someone with views like this, we live in very bleak… Continue reading
This week, social media has been dominated by the witch-hunt of a ‘trophy’ hunter who brutally killed Cecil the lion in Zimbabwe. We cannot begin to understand this industry and fathom why tourists can take such pleasure in the cruel and pointless slaughter of these precious animals.
However, as is often the case, we are astonished at the double standards displayed when stories like this hit the news. It is right that there should be outrage at ‘trophy hunting’ in general as many thousands of animals lose their lives to this abhorrent ‘sport’ each year. Despite this, we fail to see why this particular lion is more valuable than all… Continue reading

If you were asked to name the happiest group of people in the world, who would spring to mind? Research from the American Journal of Medical Genetics suggests that those with Down syndrome report incredibly high levels of happiness.
This is in stark contrast to the perception society likes to paint. There was a particularly notable and shocking example of this last year when Richard Dawkins claimed it was ‘immoral’ to allow Down’s babies to be born and said they should be aborted. Bizarrely, he attempted to justify this by saying the important question surrounding the abortion issue is ‘can it suffer?’ For him, it follows that based on the… Continue reading
Two authors have recently submitted an entry to an atheist publishing contest by coming up with their own version of the ten commandments. The Christian Post listed these in their blog – Atheists Publish Secular ’10 Commandments’ list in Book Following Global Contest.
Surprisingly, there are many similarities with their commandments and the commandments given to Moses by God – they simply remove God from the equation. What follows is a list of these commandments with a brief light-hearted, but honest response from us:
We agree with this – many people are led to Christ when… Continue reading
It is obvious that it is a case of “when” and not “if” when considering the likelihood of “assisted dying” becoming law in the UK. Additionally, anyone with an honest look at history will know that just like any similar law change, the laws surrounding “assisted dying” will be abused on a considerable scale. Just compare the laws for abortion where the overwhelming majority of these are now carried out for the reasons of convenience and carelessness – far removed from the original intention. We desperately fear for the number of elderly and disabled who already feel they are a burden to relatives/friends – many will be bullied, coerced and… Continue reading

We live at a time where a neutral position on moral issues is highly esteemed and at face-value, this seems intelligent, reasonable and tolerant. This great article by Stand to Reason’s Greg Koukl provides a fascinating counter-argument to this idea. He reveals the assumptions and surprising “intolerance” that is required to hold this view – a very interesting perspective from a great apologist – The Myth of Moral Neutrality.
The Christian in the UK is constantly bombarded with accusations of intolerance, divisiveness and being judgmental – we see this most on issues such as abortion, sexuality, sin, heaven, hell, etc. The reality is that EVERYONE holds moral positions that… Continue reading
We seem be living in times where abortion is so common that we don’t need to include it in statistics!
27% of all human deaths in England and Wales are due to abortion
