Creation
We can be guilty of taking the complexity of our bodies for granted. When we look at individual parts it’s breathtaking how they work and the precision in how they operate is often impossible for us to replicate. Many believe these came through slow changes over many years but is this a reasonable conclusion once we understand the intricacy of how many of our organs work?
For example, let’s look at the eye and the ear…
Here’s a short video on how the ear works:
Every sound we hear “sets off a complex chain of events”. The ear has the smallest bone in the entire body, the stirrup, which is… Continue reading
Amidst the increasing hysteria about climate change, much of the church seems hopelessly confused between the secular worldview and the Biblical worldview when trying to respond to the aggressive nature of environmental activism.
As followers of Christ, our understanding of why the world is the way it is and what lies ahead should be primarily shaped by the Bible. To help articulate a Biblical understanding of this issue we have written a new article that seeks to frame climate change within the prism of Scripture. This is not an exhaustive study, but we hope it will serve as a starting point – feel free to read – Climate Change and… Continue reading
Recently, Danny was asked to take a Bible study series through Genesis which was a real privilege. Genesis has to be one of the most important books in the Bible for a number of reasons:
- It answers the most fundamental questions of life such as ‘Who am I?’, ‘Why am I here?’, ‘Why so much suffering in the world?’, ‘Why does God seem so distant?’
- It tackles the most fundamental truths of humanity such as the sanctity of life, gender, sexuality, marriage, right/wrong and many other crucial topics.
- Genesis describes life in a time span greater than all of the other books of the Bible put together – from creation… Continue reading
In recent weeks, Danny has been asked to preach at St Andrew’s Baptist Church on two occasions. He has worked through 1 Corinthians 10 which is an incredibly practical passage – although this passage is particularly relevant for St Andrew’s at the present time, there is much in the way of practical advice for any church in these times of extreme moral volatility and confusion within society.
Feel free to listen to the sermons and we hope they are a blessing…
Sermon 1 – Lessons from the History of God’s People
The first sermon covers 1 Corinthians 10:1-13:
Living Waters have released their latest film The Atheist Delusion. The synopsis of the film says, “Having to prove the existence of God to an atheist is like having to prove the existence of the sun, at noon on a clear day. Yet millions are embracing the foolishness of atheism.” Ray Comfort asks various atheists questions to show how they are denying the obvious!
This is a powerful and challenging film for any atheist, but also a great resource for Christians, as it provides a framework for those times we are defending our faith. The full film is below, we highly recommend watching it and sharing it with your friends:
University settles with Creationist Scientist Mark Armitage after being fired for discovering amazing dinosaur evidence that supports Biblical creation. This lead to a lawsuit where Mr Armitage alleged he was fired based on religion. Now the University have agreed to settle which can be seen as an admission that they expected to lose the case and that his inconvenient discovery was the main motivation for his dismissal. Not only did he discover soft, brown tissue in the horn of a Triceratops, he also discovered actual bone cells – evidence like this shatters the myth that dinosaurs became extinct 65 million years ago.
We are completely convinced that the Creation… Continue reading
