Brexit and Bible Prophecy

Finding connections between Brexit and Bible prophecy is a hot topic. In the Bible, there are two geopolitical events that are very significant to end time prophecy:

  1. the regathering of the Jews and statehood of Israel
  2. the revival of the old Roman empire

The amazing thing about the times we are living is that the stage is clearly being set for the fulfilment of both of these events.

The regathering of the Jews is not the topic of this blog – instead, we would like to briefly explore the revival of the Roman empire and whether Brexit is relevant in any way.

The book of Daniel is where we find… Continue reading

Sermon: Are you ready for your Savior this Christmas?

On the 23rd December, Danny was the preacher at St Andrew’s Baptist Church. In this sermon, he explored the nativity accounts through the perspective of Mary and Joseph we here considers why God chose them for their amazing roles in the birth of Jesus.

He also addresses another baffling feature of the nativities: that the religious experts of the day directed the wise men to Bethlehem to see find Jesus, but couldn’t be bothered to travel there themselves! This has to be one of the most disturbing features of the nativity accounts. Danny makes the case that the mixed reaction to the arrival of Jesus at His first coming will… Continue reading

Flag of China looking at their social credit system

There is a project underway across China that should grab the attention of every Christian who takes Bible Prophecy seriously – it’s called the ‘Social Credit System’. Furthermore, it should grab the attention of anyone who values the freedom and liberty of humankind.

First announced back in 2014, this project is designed to secure the obedience and trust of the population by ranking them on a points system – in a nutshell, this acts as a mechanism of distinguishing the ‘good’ citizens from the ‘bad’ ones. Each citizen has a personal score which goes up for desirable behaviours and down for misdemeanours. Those with high scores can benefit from… Continue reading

Those far-right Christians and their end times views!

Israel is never far away from the news and as the events continue along its border with Gaza news stories are not hard to find. People’s view on Israel are largely influenced by these media reports but even within Christian circles the stance on Israel can vary. This is shown in a recent Guardian article about Israel and end times – In US evangelical capital, a new progressiveness and differing views on Israel.

There are many Christians who constantly look for events concerning Israel (e.g. the US Embassy move) in hope of them triggering the end time prophecies. This approach can only lead to disappointment, there have been numerous… Continue reading

Events in the Middle East continue to hot up!

We are living in incredibly significant times with many key end time indicators becoming more obvious by the day. By far the most important of these is the increasing escalation in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Israel – this is where the most notable action will take place immediately prior to Jesus’ return.

As US President Donald Trump continues to surprise (and bewilder) many since his shock election victory, his decision this week to withdraw the US from the Iran nuclear deal is undoubtedly one of his boldest moves yet. Describing the deal as ‘defective at its core’, Trump has withdrawn from the deal and imposed harsh… Continue reading

Easter Sunday Sermon - Let's Be Reasonable this Easter!

Danny was asked to preach at St Andrew’s Baptist Church this Easter Sunday. He spoke on John 20:1-18 and provided a defence of the resurrection accounts of Jesus Christ in three sections:

  1. The truth (or historicity) of the resurrection
  2. The power of the resurrection
  3. The next resurrection

The sermon is entitled ‘Let’s be reasonable this Easter‘ – you can listen to the recording…

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD… (Isaiah 1:18a NIV)

Cryptocurrencies and end times

In our world of fast-paced change, the way financial transactions take place has evolved dramatically in recent years. Chequebooks are almost a thing of the past and the concerted push towards a cashless society will inevitably gather pace in the near future. Advances in technology are making cashless payments easier by the day whilst improved counterfeiting techniques and will continue to fuel this trend away from cash – this is being further accelerated by a perception that moving away from the paper currency will reduce financial crime. This prompts questions around cryptocurrencies and end times scenarios.

However, there are serious problems with electronic financial transactions as they have proven to… Continue reading
