In our fallen state we often cannot grasp the full creative power of our God! Our eyes are darkened and we only get glimpses of God’s glory in our troubled world. We know how finely tuned the our planet and universe is but we are still learning how enormous our universe is!

Looking up at the stars at night gives us a peek at God’s awesome creation. Ever tried to count the number of stars? The billions of stars and even galaxies only leaves us in awe of our universes magnitude. Whether you look at the complexity in our human bodies or seemly never ending galaxies we keep finding only gives us more appreciation of how great and powerful our God really is!

Have you ever wondered where in the universe our Milky Way galaxy is? A team of scientists have published some fascinating data that allows us to picture not only our place in the universe but also shows the “supercluster” we are part of! The science journal ‘nature’ has shows these findings in the video below.

The narrator on the video finishes with:

so now we know that on the edge of a supercluster called Laniakea, in a galaxy called the Milky Way, around a star called the sun, there is a small blue planet, our home

But this “small blue planet” is where God sent His son Jesus Christ to die upon a cross for us! How amazing is that?!

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3)

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun (Psalm 19:1-4)
