‘The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?’ is a production in the West End that features a chap called Martin who’s marriage falls apart due to an affair – nothing unusual there as adultery is not mildly shocking anymore. The difference here is that Martin has fallen in ‘love’ with a goat.
This production marks a clear attempt to break another of our cultural taboos – bestiality. Adultery and ‘pre-marital’ sexual activity are common practice now and this is no longer news – it’s normal. Since then, the boundaries of marriage have been tinkered with and re-defined to include any adult human relationship regardless of gender or sexual preference – this is now also accepted by society as whole and woe betide anyone who expresses opposition to this. More recently, the concept of gender has been raised and we are being brainwashed with the notion that there is no such thing as ‘gender’ and that a gender-less society would be the next step toward utopia. Now, bestiality is being ‘explored’ by this production that this marks a new frontier and we suspect society will be subtly softened up to accept this. There really is very little else in terms of boundaries of human sexual behaviour that are left to break down – as shocking as it may sound, the only taboo that has yet to be seriously challenged is paedophilia, but it can only be a matter of time before serious questions are asked about this.
We recommend you read the Christian Institute’s response who do a far better job than us of commenting on this production.
We lament where we are moving as a society and it is clear we are in the middle of a severe moral crisis – the speed of this concerted rebellion against God is frightening and we are horrified by the unblushing provocation of our loving Creator. We are ashamed of our deplorable determination to remove every God-giving boundary possible. How long can this continue? The Lord’s return MUST be near!
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)
